It is simple getting to and from Skeikampen, whatever means of transportation you choose.
Car from the south; If arriving from Oslo/south, drive on road E6 untill you reach Lillehammer. Take exit 83 to Skei and Gausdal. Follow road 255 to Segalstad bru. Keep on goint straight on to road 254 to Svingvoll. Drive left in the crossing, onto road number 2544 up towards Skei. In Skei, follow the main road and the sign boards. The reception in Skeikampen Booking is located in Sanatorievegen 27B.
Car from the north; If arriving from Trondheim/north, drive on road E6 untill you reach exit Tretten. Drive onto road 254 to Svingvoll. In Svingvoll make a right in the crossing, onto road number 2544 up towards Skei. In Skei, follow the main road and the sign boards. The reception in Skeikampen Booking is located in Sanatorievegen 27B.
We recommend you NOT to use GPS for the final drive from Svingvoll to Skeikampen. The GPS can lead you into roads that are not made for cars with negative results, so drive after road signs and directions from your accommodation.
The road toll for the Veslesetervegen (between Skei and Austlid) is upgraded to an automatic toll barrier (licence plate recognition). Every passing costs NOK 60,- plus extra collectors fee if you have not registrered. We strongly recommend you to register on this web site prior to visiting Skeikampen, so the payment will be automatic; https://www.youpark.no On the site, you can choose the type of pass that suits you. You pay for passing the toll from Skei towards Austlid, not the other way. The toll is placed just west of the crossing Veslesetervegen-Nersetervegen, and is valid for all roads located west of the river (for exampel Veslesetervegen, Glåmhaugen, Brannåsvegen, Liaråket, Vestlia, Klevabergvegen, Fjellstuevegen, Austlilykkja, Lisetervegen, Fangstvegen, Svarttjernvegen).
With electric car to Skeikampen; There are electric charging stations many places along the road E6 both when comming from the south (Oslo) and from the north (Trondheim). See where they are on the maps at www.ladestasjoner.no and www.elbil.no
In Skeikampen there is a local charging possibility in Segalstadsetervegen 62. There are electric posts with voltage 230V and 10A fuse. Contact the owner Mr. Seielstad tel 0047 90 18 87 51 for booking and payment. There are also charging points at Skei Caravan, Thon Hotel Skeikampen, outside the reception of Skeikampen Booking, and at Skei Apartement (Skeistua). The next charging stations are in Segalstad Bru, appx. 20km from Skeikampen, and at several locations in Lillehammer. It is not allowed to charge with an extension cord direct from the cabin due to fire hazard.
Train; Closest train station is Lillehammer, where the trains from Oslo and Oslo Airport Gardermoen stops almost every hour.
Transfer bus; During the winter season a transfer bus is also operating between Lillehammer station and Skeikampen, every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, which corresponds with selected train arrivals / departures.
The school bus; A regular scheduled bus service beween Lillehammer and Skeikampen (in seasons) / Svingvoll (off seasons) is also available throughout the year, operated by Innlandstrafikk.
Taxi; We have a good cooperation with the local taxi company Gausdal Drosje.
